Tonight we ran a new experiment. Joel thought that maybe we should use a denser base liquid then water. We tried sugar water, and the results were much different.

One last attempt for a while. I used a deeper dish this time. Thinking I would be able to take some photos through it. I was wrong.

Please note the large amount of water I spilled everywhere.....

 
All I did was make a big mess....  Joel wasn't here to help me either. I think that it is always best to have an assistant......

Happy Gift Day Mom!! You are one of the world best moms!! I love you very much!!

Joel and I experimented with oil, water, and food coloring again. We started with a base of oil this time, it didn't work as well.  I also used my on camera flash, I should have found my strobe and used that instead.

But after a bit we made this happen:

Then we switched back to more water then oil:
