Went out to Summer Lake Park this morning.

The little birds were out and about.

I would love help identifying this one!

There were even flowers and a bee!

Yay! We went out to the park today. It was a little windy and cloudy.

I didn't make it very far outside today. The wind came up after I got off work and blew everything all around. So here are some things I found close to home.

There was a tiny bug on this tiny leaf!

Tonight a kiwi. It is such a cuddly little fruit.

 and it is one of my favorite colors!

Okay my faithful followers, I am going to take a break from my "studio" for a while and get outside. It has been hard for me to get up in the morning a go or make time in the evening to go, but if I don't start getting back outside I am going to run out of fruits and vegetables to photograph.... plus I am just a tiny bit bored with this..... I need something new.

Today I will dissect a passion fruit!

I am pretty excited, I have no idea what is inside! It does rattle a bit when you shake it!

So the passion fruit gets its name from the flower of the plant. "Passionfruit acquired its name from Spanish missionaries who thought parts of the plant's flower resembled different religious symbols. The Jesuit missionaries who accompanied the Conquistadors to South America saw in its striking flower a means of illustrating the Crucifixion; the 10 petals and sepals represented the apostles, the crown of thorns was seen in the filaments, the five anthers represent the five wounds, the three stigmas were allied with the nails used to pierce the hands and feet of Jesus and the vine's tendrils were equated with the whips." I googled the flower.... I don't see what they saw.... so.... yeah....

I think passion fruit is a misnomer...... but snot fruit probably wouldn't sell very well.

It is fairly tasty, if you can get past the looks.... Sweet and tart!

I really like that the toilet is in the background of this..... I guess you now know my "studio" is by the bathroom....
