Meet Fish!

Fish is the newest addition to our family. She is about 4 years old. She came to live with us because her partner in crime, an over 20 year old conure, passed away from kidney failure and Fish was very lonely.

Fish is very friendly to other birds. Artemis is still trying to figure out how to be friends.

Don't worry Artemis! I still love you! (even if you don't love me.....)

Opal isn't sure about Fish sitting higher then her!

Opal still thinks she is the boss.....

I think they will be alright together.

I played with Artemis and Opal today. They aren't used to the 50D yet, so they were pretty shy.
Artemis is still molting a little you can see the new little feathers on his face.

Opal wouldn't hold still. The camera bothered her.

 I messed around with a bad shot of her and came up with this.... opinions?

I also found that we have a new roommate.

Here is a better photograph of Neutron. It still isn't very good. I need to work on my black cat photo skills......

Moving is not awesome.... if you ever think you are doing alright.... you are no where close to ready....

Moving near your birthday is also a terrible idea.....
We cancelled my fun and awesome birthday party in favor of packing.
Our super wonderful friends came over and helped us!

I gave them cake... that is not a lie!

They turned the giant mess into this!

We also found a neat way to keep the birds out of trouble while being out of their cages.

So I got this letter today.....

It makes me laugh and cry at the same time.  This is a $125 increase in our rent. If you know our neighborhood or have seen out building you would know that is is absolutely ridiculous.

There are some big changes coming for us in the next two months.......and I have a feeling it isn't going to be so easy.

On the lighter side of things, Opal was very amiable to getting her picture taken today. She even stepped up on my finger from her perch in her cage!

Artemis, however, was having none of it!

Here is the start to my latest origami piece. It doesn't look like much yet I know....

I also made these cranes out of some sheet music. I don't think they look quite right. Opinions?

Now I have to pack our lunches and figure out what I am going to wear tomorrow to the Emerald City Comic Con!
