August 7th 2014

Today was a much better day at training. I probably had a bad case of Newbie jitters and everything seemed worse then it actually was.

I a pretty excited. I feel that I am going to be encouraged to do my own creative projects outside of work and there are contests that I am able to enter, that (I hear) give you a great critique.

My orchid started opening today.

The Prayer Plant look pretty neat too!

I also conducted a black cat experiment, thankfully Neutron cooperated.

This photo was taken on auto. I knew it wouldn't come out right but, I wanted to see how far off it was. It isn't horrible, but it isn't that great either. (He is recovering from a small break out of feline acne on his chin.)

I feel that I am improving my black cat photo taking skills a little at a time.

This sticker was on the table at training. It made me laugh, since training is at an armory.

My first full day in my new home was pretty uneventful.

I did find a tiny shoot on my orchid, maybe it will rebloom!

I cut out and put together some paper minis for the Pathfinder campaign I am running, starting tomorrow. It is my first time being a GM for anyone but Joel....I am a little nervous!

Artemis is is being really cranky. I think he may be molting, so he isn't that happy to hang out with me, but Opal hung out with me for a bit.

My roommate Jen has frogs. Her frogs laid eggs and those eggs hatched into tadpoles! I will make sure to take some more photos as they all grow up!

Finally, here is Proton, aka White Kitten. He is one of the new kitties in my life.

Today I learned a valuable lesson.
It is important to actually read the word that is written, not what you think it says.

There is a very big difference between Rainer Ave S and Rainier Ave S.
I wanted to go have coffee with my friend Kathyrn (not my boss Kathryn a different Kathryn). I ended up lost in the industrial district of Seattle and stuck behind a railroad crossing....

I eventually made it to the right place after looking at the GPS one more time....

 The crane collage I made also went to its new home with Kathryn.

This evening I decided that I would clean some of the birds toys. The mirror that they love gets very dirty. Artemis decided that it would be a great time to go on a new adventure. His flight feathers have
grown in and he is proving to be quite the flyer....

Remind me why I wanted pet birds again.... It is really hard to tame them....

Since I couldn't reach him and he seemed pretty happy on the pot I decided I would repot my orchids. These two orchids were a gift from a client after her kitty passed away from a hard fought illness. His name was Fox.

They are in the tiniest pots. I hope that giving them a new home will help them grow and maybe bloom again.

Yes, these are drinking glasses. I didn't have anything else to put them in....

Don't worry I was supervised the entire time.

I gave up on getting Artemis back in his cage. I went to go watch some League of  Legends. I guess he wanted to watch too....

After he sat on the T.V. for a while he found his cage and went peacefully in after I opened the door.

March 1st 2014

I learned that my three legged kitty friend's name is Tenzing.

 

When he was adopted his family was told not to let him outside. But he had different ideas, he climbed and ripped up all the window screens. So they named him after Tenzing Norgay, one of the first men to climb Mount Everest.

There were lots of reds, yellows, and oranges on the way to work this morning.

Tilly's orchid bloomed!

 And I lost my breakfast......

But you can't stay mad at someone who has such cute toes!

I am feeling pretty disappointed this evening. My short story didn't make it into the Women Destroy SciFi issue of Lightspeed Magazine. I am actually surprised how disappointed I am. It will be alright. They are having a new contest, this time, it is a fantasy short story.

There was sun this morning!

Is this a Pussy Willow tree?

These crocuses were huge and very dark purple.

Here is the tiny light purple ones in bloom.

I found that some one was walking the same path as me today.

 These tiny white flowers are blooming all over right now.

Tilly's Orchid was looking like it was ready to bloom. I took this one at 9:54 am.

At 1:34 pm it looked like this!

I wonder if the flower will be fully open in the morning!

I decided to post a mix of yesterday's photos and today's.

Inky and I watched some League of Legends EU games yesterday. She was very interested in the Roccat vs Fnatic game. She was quite pleased that Roccat won. (For those of you who don't know, League of Legends is a video game where 5 man teams try to destroy each others base with by choosing the best composition of champions.  Roccat and Fnatic are both teams from Europe. It is a really fun game to watch and play.)

I also folded some cranes out to this neat paper.

We got Abby a memorial orchid today.

It will sit next to Tilly's orchid, which is about to bloom again. (Tilly past away in October of 2012).







I shaved my legs today!

While that may not be that amazing in its self...... I haven't shaved my legs since my friend Autumn's wedding in July.......

Some how during the process of shaving my legs I guess I thought it was a good idea to try to shave my hand too?

Maybe this is the real reason I don't shave my legs......

Well goodnight. There will be high adventures tomorrow! It is Wednesday, my day off!
