October 23rd 2013

I took my car in to the shop today for an oil change, general maintenance, and a recall fix. They said it would take 3 hours so Joel and I decided to walk over to 196th street to go find some food. We didn't think it would be too much of a walk since were were at 220th street. We were wrong. We walked THREE miles to find some food... and then three miles back to get my car. It was quite the adventure.

See... the first thing we saw on our walk was an old ear of corn in a discarded shoe.

Then there was a spider drinking water. She collected the dew in her web into a ball. It was the strangest thing to watch. I guess I didn't ever think about a spider needing a drink.

This is a different spider. There were about a dozen of them on the bush.

Here i am with my 50D.

And the last bit of weird. When we got back to the Honda dealership this dog with there. Her name is Daisy.

October 19th 2013

The morning was foggy again. There was plenty of dew on all the spider webs. There were many shots that I thought were pretty neat.  If you would like to see the spider webs go to my g+ page https://plus.google.com/u/0/ I have a spider web album that I hope I will be adding to.

One thing about Seattle, or maybe the whole Pacific Northwest, I find interesting is that in the fall or winter when it is cloudy, the light is pretty much the same all day. It stays a diffuse grey from sunrise to sunset. That is nice for no shadows but it hardly make for dramatic lighting. Oh well, diffuse light is better then no light! Tomorrow I am going to photograph my friend in her cosplay. I hope I do her and her hard work justice!

I took what I felt were some pretty great photos today. I actually couldn't get down to only 5 images today. I am VERY happy with my selection. Please enjoy these 8 images.

I made a friend on my walk today. My little friend that would not be still!

 And Me!

October 18th 2013

This morning was amazing! It was foggy and all the dew was clinging to everything. All the spider webs were visible. It was breathtaking!

But you know what happened as I happily experimented with my slow syncro flash? My battery died. Did I have my 2nd battery.... nope. It was at home on the charger. You think I would have learned this lesson.... but I guess it hasn't sunk in yet.... Why bother having extra batteries, if I am just going to leave them home.... jeez...

Joel, bless his heart, brought me my battery at work so I could shoot some more on the way home.

Oh well, it is supposed to be foggy again tomorrow, I will try again.

Here is what I did take today:

Not sure exactly what a happened here, but it is pretty creepy.... The fog added some weird elements.

I used the flash! and it doesn't look too horrible!

 Here I am walking home!

and then this was sitting there this morning......

Who leaves toilet paper on the side of the road?
