December 31st, 2014

I also got one more present from Alaska! A cold!  A crazy you are instantly sick cold. I don't think I am even going to make it to midnight!

We stayed home and played Mice and Mystics.

I play a healer named Tilda.

Even MomCat wanted to play.... or maybe just eat our mice.

The little mice have to do battle with evil monsters! Like a giant centipede.

And of course, we have to follow the rules!

Hope you have a great night!
Happy New year! (I can't stay awake to see this one...)

She brought us home this cool raven! I am going to hang it on the wall, and not put it away with the Christmas ornaments.....

Hope you have a great night!

December 27th, 2014

I successfully photographed the mystery bird at our feeder!

I believe that this is a non-breeding female American Goldfinch. We have a small flock of them that are coming around. On the map of their area, it looks like the Portland area is year round/winter habitat for them.

Also for those of you that were wondering what my secret sewing projects were, here they are!  I made quilts and pillows for my mom and dad!

Bees for mom:

And camera/trains for dad:

They aren't perfect but they aren't too bad for my first attempt at quilting.

Hope you have a great night!!

That's my mom!

December 27th, 2014

You didn't think it would be long before I started another crazy project.... right?

Well, I have been slowly working on this one for a while. I decided that I was going to fold 1000 cranes from 1000 different papers. I have been gathering different origami papers  for about a year or so. I am no where close to 1000. Tonight I was trying to figure out how to catalog all the paper so I had an accurate count. Joel said I should take a photo of each paper then I wouldn't have to get all the paper out to check if I had a paper.  I agreed.

I didn't have to work alone though. I had help.

She even let me take a few photos of her!

You didn't think I would let you off with out seeing some of my papers did you?

Hope you have a great night!!

December 26th, 2014

We made it to Zoolights tonight. It was really crowded.

I did get to try out my bokeh experiment. I made some shapes to put in front of my 50mm lens. Two shapes didn't work as well as I hoped.

This is a cat shape:

This is supposed to be a diamond shape.....

The shape that worked the best was a heart.

Hope you have a great night!
